Happy May everyone! The end of April has me super excited because I hit OVER 1500 page views for the month, way exceeding my goal of 1000! Almost doubling my March numbers! I have been putting in a lot more time to my site and am super proud of some of my April posts such as A Day in Verona, the Best Big Island Beaches and a review of our trip to The Museum of Mathematics! I also wrote my first guest post for 101 Food Travel, an article about the amazing cooking class we took in Northern Italy. You can read that here.
So I guess my favorite thing this month was my readers (that’s you!) but I still have an actual list of Stuff I have been loving this month.

STUFF I LOVE: APRIL 2017
Aperol Spritz
Last month in Verona, we sat down to a fancy lunch in Piazza Bra and I had my first Aperol Spritz! I loved this drink so much. For Easter, I decided to recreate this aperitif (pre-meal drink meant to open your appetite) at home for my family.
To make this drink you need Aperol, Prosecco, club soda, ice and an orange. I did have to go to two stores to find Aperol, but it seems to be well carried in the US. A Spritz recipe is simple, mix 3 parts Prosecco, 2 parts Aperol and splash of soda. Serve over ice with an orange slice.
Again, this is an aperitif meant to be drunk before a meal. Enjoy with some cured meats, bread and your favorite cheeses!
P.S. Im adding this book to my Mother’s Day/Birthday/Christmas wish list!
When the Storm Breaks
I am always looking for good book recommendations! I just read this book, When the Storm Breaks – the debut novel by Avery Hart. I know the author in real life, although she writes under a pen name. We spoke frequently through her journey to write this novel and get it to print. I’ve always wanted to write a novel, still do, and am so inspired by her! I know it was A LOT of hard work and her book is really good.
This story follows Claire Scott, our strong female lead. When the Storm Breaks will suck you in, and shock you right from the first Chapter! This story had such great twists and turns, I literally couldn’t put it down! And you can buy this book here for only $1.99 on kindle!
Warning: This book contains adult language and content.
Trader Joe’s Guacamole to Go
I am a frequent Trader Joe’s shopper, and like most TJ fans I love discussing new TJ products. A fall favorite made it into my October post, and this month, I am loving the Avocado’s Number Guacamole to Go. This box contains 6 single serve guacamole packets.
I love this product because I am super into making burrito bowls right now. PRO-TIP: Use quinoa instead of rice for some added protein. In my bowl, I want some guac, but if I open the big container, the unused portion browns very quickly! Now you can have fresh guacamole whenever you want! And the guacamole itself is pretty good. Much easier, and less messy, then making my own batch! Plus I don’t know about you, but I can never seem to have avocados ripe when I want some guacamole!
In May, I am planning to write some more about Hawaii and Italy, and I need to pay it forward to Sage Creek Meadow for nominating me for the Liebster Award! In April Momma To Go accepted the Sunshine Blogger Award, and now this! Can’t complain about that!

Congrats on exceeding your goal! I never thought about making a burrito bowl with quinoa — genius!

A BIG congrats on exceeding your GOALS! Great going!! Also- that spritzer looks amazing and I’m going to have to try that out. Thanks for sharing! Hope you are having a great week! XO
That drink looks amazing! So refreshing.
ooooh Aperol Spritz 🙂 love love it!! Haven’t had in ages. I’d skip the club soda though haha – We made a cocktail once with a sommelier friend. A dash of strawberry sirop, aperol, rose wine and topped with sprite and ice. a slice of Orange. Served in a large wine glass. super yum! try it 🙂
I will try it! I havent ventured much off the Spritz!
Whoo I have not tried this drink before, it sounds so tasty :):) Thanks for stopping by Creative Mondays last week, sorry I am late sopping by, been a mad busy week..
Great list, Harmony! I also love an Aperol Spritz. Makes me feel like a bit of Italy is with me when I drink one. In April, I was loving grocery delivery, which just launched in my Michigan city via Shipt. It’s a bit more expensive, but it’s so convenient, especially when I get busy between trips.
Love your things i love posts. Great list
