In these crazy quarantine times, I’ve been watching a ton of movies! I mean what else to do since I’m not traveling? Since the news is so heavy, and life at home can be hard, we have been leaning towards comedic, lighthearted, fun movies to escape the weight of our everyday quarantine lives. So, I decided to share with you all a list of my favorite comedy movies that inspire travel.
I got my first real grown-up luggage set for my wedding back in 2007. And those suitcases have served us well for MANY years – but the carry-on size suitcase busted a wheel and has been on the fritz for a while. The big one busted a zipper and I had to replace it on short notice. I had been in the market for a new carry on suitcase, but with SO MANY options I was kind of stymied about making a new purchase! Well now you can, right here on the South Shore of Long Island! I was so excited to recently check out the new AR Workshop in Bellmore, New York. At their preview night, dubbed the “Aqua Carpet,” I made an awesome rustic looking sign that now hangs in my office. The whole project took only about two hours and I love the piece I created.

We travel as a way to spend time as a family. We travel to see the world and know that there is more to life than our tiny slice of it. We love long trips, like our three weeks in Hawaii, short, local getaways like our night in Dutchess County, or annual trips to our favorite winter spot, Southwest Florida. No matter near or far, short or long, each trip is special to our family. As cheesy as it sounds, the memories we create on these trips will last a lifetime.
I love sharing my destination guides and travel tips for taking kids around the world! But I also love introducing my readers to fun things they can do close to home. Unless you are a full-time travel family (and I have met many through blogging and social media) you are spending more time at home than traveling. For that reason, I like to have lots of activities in my back pocket to tuck away for a holiday or weekend day when we are just hanging on Long Island. Hi friends – this summer is flying by! I’ve been a little quiet here and on my social media because I have been working at camp all summer. I am a head counselor for a group of 4-year old boys! Needless to say, its kept me on my toes! Working at camp has also kept me super exhausted! Each day I spent an hour or so before camp working on a few new posts and engaging on social media. I’ve also been making a long to-do list to help me when I can get back to full time blogging in the fall!

This winter I drove 2,600 miles from New York to Florida (on 1/2 of the trip I was the only parent) and just returned from a LONNNGGG ride up to Maine, and back.
