Well, back in March, I attended the Philadelphia Travel and Adventure show. I stumbled, hungrily, upon the Waffatopia booth. I had a free sample, and then after tasting how delicious they were, opted to buy a Banana & Nutella waffle.

And I could not stop thinking about it!

Seriously.

It was so good. SO. GOOD.

So when Waffatopia offered to send me a box of their delicious, can-be-delivered-to-you-by-mail waffles, I was like YES, PLEASE! Not only are these treats delicious, they are the perfect unique food gift! I am so excited to introduce the Momma To Go readers to Waffatopia!

Waffatopia: The Ultimate Gift Delivery Idea

Let’s face it, we all know a great product when we see, or taste one. But a great product with a great story behind it, well that’s the best! At the Travel Show, I met Brian, who along with his wife founded Waffatopia back in 2009.

I was not surprised to learn that they were inspired to start Waffatopia after traveling to Belgium! I know when I visited Brussels back in 1997, waffles (and frites) were such a memorable part of the trip!

Now many of you know, I personally am more of an eater than baker, but even I was surprised to learn that these waffles are made from DOUGH, not batter. They also use an imported Belgian pearl sugar that gives the waffles a caramelized glaze – and their very distinct flavor!

In addition to delicious waffles, I fell in love with the entrepreneurial story of founders Brian and Andrea. They had an idea and passion, and turned it into a wonderful business.

 

Waffatopia Waffles

My 12-waffle care package came with 3 Banana/Nutella, 3 Maple Bacon, 3 Cinnamon Vanilla and 3 Chocolate Stuffed Waffles. Each waffle is individually packed.

 

Upon arrival, waffles need to be refrigerated or frozen. I purposely stashed 3 in the fridge to save for later – the rest were devoured pretty quickly!

Waffles can be reheated in the microwave – or how I like them, in the toaster oven. They are fine enjoyed at room temperature, in fact I threw two in our bag to share on our day trip to the Hall of Science! They were the perfect light lunch to munch on while we were at the museum.

Personally, I loved the Banana/Nutella but the Chocolate Stuffed was a close second. They have a new Caramel Waffacino flavor that sounds delicious, as well as a Caramel Sea Salt I’d love to try!

I still have two waffles in my freezer. I’m saving those for the next time I need my sugar fix! And honestly, I am so excited to have discovered this amazing and unique food gift – both for friends and myself!
