‘Tis the season for travel… oh wait, I mean gift giving! Since we are a traveling family, I always think to get practical gifts for my kids that they can use on our many adventures. I always ask for travel related items as well. Of course, I value experiences over things and somehow plane tickets ALWAYS end up in my stocking! Since we are well-versed in travel and I love sharing the best travel stuff, I’m so excited to share my best gifts for traveling families.
The Best Gifts for Traveling Families
Just popping in to wish you and your family the happiest of holidays!
I plan to do a full 2017 recap next week (and look back at this year’s travel goals) while thinking ahead to 2018. But I am excited to see a full return to blogging after the new year. You might have noticed its been a little quiet around here these past two months!

Happy New Year and welcome to my final 2016 Stuff I Love: December edition. I had a great holiday season; I so love that time between Thanksgiving and the New Year. We had some great travels, Maine, North Carolina and Atlantic City but also enjoyed our local festivities. It felt like quite a whirlwind and now onward to 2017!

My mother-in-law lives in Maine. Up in an area called the Mid-Coast. Her house is up on a hill, and down below is the beautiful town of Belfast Maine right on the Penobscot Bay. Belfast is about 2 hours northeast of Portland and about an hour due east of Augusta. We have been to this area countless times – in the spring, summer and fall, so I am so excited to share with you all the great things to do in Belfast Maine.

I know I keep saying this, but I literally just sat down to write last month’s post and here it is time for a November Stuff I love!
November flew by. I was exceptionally busy trying to settle into my new role as Stay-At-Home-Mom, and Work-at-Home-Mom/blogger. I also got back on the educational horse so to speak and starting subbing at the awesome school I worked at 10 years ago. I also picked up a tutoring student who I am with three times a week. So yeah, keeping busy!

Stuff I Love: November 2016
Is every pre-school aged kid obsessed with trains? Okay my son is seven and he still loves a Long Island Rail Road train ride. This is also still his favorite book; he reads it at least once a week! But back in his pre-school days trains were literally the only thing he played with, talked about and had any interest in. His favorite outdoor activity was walking to the pedestrian bridge on 67th street in Queens, where the LIRR trains race underneath. He could stand there for hours watching the trains go by. So it was no surprise that for Halloween that year, he asked to be a “ding-ding crossing.” Which is a railroad crossing to you and me. A railroad crossing Halloween costume?
Seriously where does he think up this stuff?
