Last week I had the honor of being invited to an overnight on the Celebrity Beyond, Celebrity’s third Edge Class Ship. She just arrived in North America, to New York City, after a full summer sailing the Mediterranean in Europe. I was only on board for one night, but I got to explore every bit of this incredible ship (and meet Captain Kate McCue), and can’t wait to share with you. Keep reading for my full Celebrity Beyond Review.

I was invited to stay on this industry overnight. As always, all opinions are my own.

Celebrity Cruise Line: Celebrity Beyond Review

What is the Celebrity Beyond?

The Celebrity Beyond is Celebrity’s newest ship, she set sail April 2022. The last time I sailed on Celebrity was back in 2004 (?) so I was excited to see what their new ship had to offer.

The Celebrity Beyond is part of the Edge class of Celebrity ships, which also includes the Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Apex.

The Beyond is a bit taller, and longer than its class counterparts. It’s also Nate Berkus designed with Daniel Boulud’s first restaurant at sea! Talk about relaxed luxury that I am sure you are going to love.

Celebrity Beyond Deck Plan

I always think the best way to get to know a ship is to look at its deck plan. You all know I love cruising and have sailed many times since cruising’s restart in 2021. I was on Holland America’s Nieuw Amsterdam in November 2021, Virgin’s Scarlet Lady in January 2022, Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas in February 2022, on the brand new Disney Wish in September 2022,  the NCL Prima in October 2022, ICON of the Seas in 2024, and got to try the MSC Yacht Club in 2024!

So I’ve been on some amazing ships, especially recently, and I can tell you the Celebrity Beyond is a gorgeous cruise ship!

Celebrity Beyond Deck Plan

Our infinite verandah room was on deck 6, which is an all stateroom deck. The fun starts on deck 3, where the hub of the interior space is located, the Martini Bar.

Deck 3 also has ocean view staterooms, the Normadie and Tuscan restaurants at the aft, and then the Camp at Sea, and first floor of the theater at the forward.

Going up to Deck 4, at the aft you have Eden (Closed when we toured, as Andy Cohen was filming a Watch What Happens Live in there!). Coming forward, you have the Cyprus and Cosmpolitan restaurants, the casino and shops, the Craft Social Bar, Cafe al Bacio (coffee bar), Le Grand Bistro, Le Voyage, the photo gallery, shore excursions desk, the night club, and the balcony area of the Theatre.

Going up to Deck 5, you have the Eden Cafe, Blu restaurant, Fine Cut Steakhouse, Raw on 5, the World Class Bar, the Art Gallery, and more Theater seating.

Celebrity Beyond Atrium

Decks 6 – 12 are various staterooms. The Celebrity Beyond is the largest of the Celebrity cruise ships and can hold over 3,200 passengers.

Deck 14 is where you will find the outdoor stuff and the buffet (Oceanview Cafe) at the aft. The pool is up here, along with the pool bar, mast grill, and the adults only Solarium (indoor pool). In the forward of deck 14, is the spa, which is gorgeous!

As you head up to deck 15, don’t miss the Sunset Bar and rooftop garden at the aft. There is also the rooftop Garden Grill restaurant back here. As you go forward, you will find seating, and the forward of Deck 15 is where you will find the Celebrity Beyond Retreat Lounge, and at the way forward is the fitness center.

Celebrity Beyond Rooftop Garden Grill

Deck 16 is not a full deck, and the whole forward area is part of the Retreat (for suite guests) although there are some hot tubs up here around the pool and the mast bar.

Lastly, The Retreat has a deck 17, more great space to relax, sunbathe, and unwind. Booking a room with Retreat access is a great way to elevate your Celebrity Cruise vacation!

Celebrity Beyond Infinite Verandah

Hubby and I stayed in an infinite verandah room on Deck 6 – stateroom 6263 to be exact. Prior to boarding, I had seen videos of the infinite verandah stateroom on the Apex and Edge and I was excited to experience it for myself.

You maybe be wondering, WHAT IS AN INFINITE VERANDAH? Well first of all, I loved the concept! When the “window” is closed, the balcony area becomes additional interior space, which is always good to have on a cruise ship stateroom. On our recent trip on Royal Caribbean’s ICON of the Seas, we stayed in two Central Park View Infinite Balcony rooms. Seems like the new ships are rolling out this infinite balcony concept.

When you want a balcony feeling, you can slide down the glass and close the door to the bedroom to create a legit balcony room. Really innovative and very functional.

Celebrity Beyond Cabins

On my one night tour, I did get to see some other of the Celebrity Beyond’s cabins, and some of Celebrity’s gorgeous suites!

Some other great choices for Celebrity Beyond Cabins:

  • Concierge Infinite Verandah – this is the same cabin space as the room I was assigned, but comes with concierge access and some other fun perks.
  • Aqua Class Suite – the room here was slightly larger than a balcony, but aqua class suite rooms come with BOTH spa access and the amenities of a suite. These guests also have a dedicated specialty restaurant, Blu, which has health conscious food options.
  • The Edge Villa – this was my favorite room we toured. A two-story oasis with your own private deck AND private plunge pool/hot tub! Yes, you can make your private pool hot or cold! How cool is that! This suite has two full bathrooms, and butler service as well. You literally never need to leave your cabin, what a dream.Celebrity Beyond Edge Villa
  • The Iconic Suite – This is a very large, two bedroom apartment sized stateroom! Complete with your own peloton – how cool is that?Celebrity Beyond Iconic Villa

Of course the Celebrity Beyond offers ocean view and interior cabins as well.

Celebrity Beyond Dining

One night was a just too short to experience all the foods, but we did so enjoy our one lunch, dinner at Tuscan, and morning breakfast at the buffet, Oceanview. The food was really great, and there is a nice variety on board the Celebrity Beyond.

Upon embarkation, we had lunch in the main dining room, Cosmopolitan. I love a sit-down breakfast or lunch on a cruise, so don’t get stuck always eating at the buffet.

On the Celebrity Beyond, there are two main dining rooms,  and four concept main dining rooms. It was a little confusing, because its different than other cruises I have been on, but let me explain.

You have your main dining room, Cosmopolitan and three concept restaurants – Cyprus, Tuscan, and Normandie. Those serve Celebrity classics, which are available every night, in every restaurant. They also serve Celebrity signatures, which are items that are unique to that evening, but are served uniform across all of the main dining venues. Lastly, each restaurant has a few dishes unique to that eatery.

On our one night on board, we dined at Tuscan, the Italian steakhouse.  I would have loved to try Cyprus – I love Mediterranean food. Well, I would have loved to have tried them all – clearly I need to go back on board!

Having the flexible menu is great, especially for parties that have a variety of dietary interests. So even if you are dining at Normandie, and you don’t care for French food, the Celebrity Classics are there!

Outside of dinner, other complimentary restaurants include:

  • Oceanview, the buffet, which was lovely
  • Mast Grill up by the main pool that served hot dogs/hamburgers stuff like that. PRO-TIP that is also where the self-serve, soft serve is!
  • Rooftop Garden Grill – up on deck 17 aft
  • The Spa Café and Juice Bar
  • Blu for Aqua Class guests (for breakfast and dinner)
  • Luminere for Retreat guests

Celebrity Beyond Specialty Restaurants

It would have been so nice to try one of the specialty restaurants. Again, I have to sail again! The Celebrity Beyond signature eatery is le Voyage, Daniel Boulud’s first restaurant at sea. We did get to tour le Voyage, and it’s so beautiful inside, and the menu looks divine.

Other Celebrity Beyond specialty dining restaurants include Fine Cut (modern steakhouse), Le Grand Bistro, and Dinner on the Edge (up on the Magic Carpet).

Celebrity Beyond Spa and Wellness

Celebrity Cruise Line treats wellness as a fundamental element of their cruise experience. I toured their gorgeous spa, and I wish I could have stayed for a treatment.

The spa has a full salon, where you can get hair and nails done. There is also a barber shop.

The Celebrity Beyond spa has a large variety of treatments on board. They offer couples and singles massage rooms, a medispa doctor on board, and Quartz/4D Wellmassage specialty treatment beds.

If you are looking for the ultimate in relaxation, consider some time in the thermal suite. You can purchase a day pass or buy a package for your full cruise.

Celebrity Beyond Fitness

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I always hit the gym on my cruises (to offset all of the eating). The fitness center on Celebrity Beyond is huge. Very well equipped with everything you need for a great workout. They also have peloton bikes on board, and an expanded F45 training studio.

Won’t have to miss a workout, even on vacation!

Celebrity Beyond Retreat

What is the Celebrity Beyond Retreat? This is Celebrity Cruise Line’s “all-suite, all-included” concept. Book a retreat class suite and have the ultimate ship within a ship experience.

How amazing does that sound?

Retreat guests have full access to the Retreat lounge, where there is a concierge, full bar, and space to relax in a quiet space.

Retreat guests also have a two story private pool deck and access to Luminae, a dedicated restaurant.

Plus, I got to tour the Edge Villa and Iconic Suite – these rooms are total cruise goals and come with butler service, unlimited specialty dining, laundry and in-room mini bar.

Book one of these signature suites and for the ultimate in luxury cruising!

Other Great Spaces on the Celebrity Beyond

There are three other amazing spaces I must mention on this incredible Edge class ship.

Celebrity Beyond Sunset bar – This is such a beautiful space in back of the ship up on deck 17. This area is totally Nate Berkus designed, and it’s just a lovely place to relax and take in the best views.

Celebrity Beyond Solarium – When we sailed on Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas, hubby and I so enjoyed the solarium area. I was excited to see there is a Solarium on the Celebrity Beyond as well! This covered pool/relaxation area is for adults 16+. It really nice to have a kid-free area, as well as a covered pool area to enjoy on non-tropical sailings. (This was the one thing I think is missing from Norwegian Cruise Line ships, especially when we did the NCL Getaway out of New York City)

Celebrity Beyond Magic Carpet – This is the coolest concept at sea, and I was excited to see it – We didn’t experience the movement since we were docked in Bayonne! But the Magic Carpet is an enclosed glass space that hangs off the side of the boat – the big orange thing you see in the pictures. The space can be used as a bar, restaurant or lounge space. I’m sure when you are sailing the high seas, the views are incredible!

Celebrity Beyond Review

One night on the Celebrity Beyond was not enough! But having not sailed on Celebrity since 2004/5, and I did get a better understanding of the brand and Celebrity’s Edge class ships.

In my opinion, the infinite verandah is the perfect balcony room configuration. It’s a great design and very functional. Of course, if you can upgrade to a suite, the extra perks are a great value and really enhance your vacation experience.

I loved the food, drinks, and service on the Celebrity Beyond, but to me, what was the stand out was the beautiful, elevated spaces. Like the room, the design of the ship is sophisticated but functional.

Booking into the retreat really adds a great value to your cruise experience. It’s for sure the way to go! Be sure to reach out so I can help you find the perfect room on Celebrity Beyond!

Another agent described Celebrity as “attainable luxury” which I think sums up the Celebrity Beyond perfectly. I think adult cruisers of every age, who appreciate the value of finer things, would enjoy this ship.

I cannot wait to book all of you on Celebrity Cruises and the Edge class ships. I need to sail again myself, hopefully for longer! Have you sailed on Celebrity Cruise Line? Have you been on the Celebrity Beyond?
