A few months ago, the Momma To Go Family took an amazing 7-day Holland America Cruise aboard the ms Veendam. We travel a lot, and for us, this was a true vacation! But because we were hitting the high seas (without a Wal-Mart around the corner) I really, really spent a lot of time researching everything we needed to bring! And it is true, if you realize mid-cruise you need something, you are either going to be out of luck, or have to pay a premium in the cruise gift shop. We ended up having everything we needed (and not much more) so I am so excited to share with you my cruise packing list and the best cruise packing hacks!

Two New Rides at Splish Splash Long Island

Last year, we finally ventured to our local waterpark, Splish Splash Long Island. The kids were finally old enough to really enjoy the thrill rides and we seemed to max out of our toddler favorite, Sesame Place. Our day at Splish Splash was a 2017 highlight, with the kid’s talking often and fondly of our trip! So we were so excited to be invited back this year to check out the two new rides at Splish Splash, Long Island!

The Ultimate Road Trip Packing List

When taking your next road trip, in addition to packing your luggage, there are certain items you MUST have for your car! Trust me, I know. This winter I drove 2,600 miles from New York to Florida (on 1/2 of the trip I was the only parent) and just returned from a LONNNGGG ride up to Maine, and back. We even took this show on the international road, driving up to Montreal! Stocking your car with the essentials will keep the kids, and parents happy! A Visit to the New York Hall of Science

One of my favorite NYC things to do is a visit to the New York Hall of Science located in the borough of Queens. When little man was small, we lived just a few miles away from the Hall of Science. For many years we had a membership and would visit often – mostly to play in the Preschool play space. Since moving to Long Island we have only been back to the Hall of a Science a few times, but we were excited to be recently invited to come check it out!

Things to do in Dutchess County with kids

Last March, at the Philadelphia Travel and Adventure Show, I met a rep from the Dutchess County tourism board. I have family in the Poughkeepsie area, and visit up there twice a year – for New Year’s Eve, and to run the Dutchess County Classic in the fall. We got to talking, about that race, and funny enough the woman I met at the travel show was also involved in organizing the race! Funny how life connects like that.

One of my favorite things about traveling, writing and blogging is the connections made with others. So, I was so excited when the Dutchess County tourism board invited little man and I to come up for a night (they wanted us to stay longer – but we are so busy in the spring, isn’t everyone?) and explore some of the great activities Dutchess County has to offer. SPOILER ALERT: We LITERALLY had the best time on this trip, and I am so excited to share all the great things to do in Dutchess County with kids. This is a long weekend getaway you want to plan right now!

How to Apply for TSA Pre-Check

When we came back from our awesome Holland America cruise, we flew home from Ft. Lauderdale International Airport. Since we used a Delta companion ticket for little man’s seat, his reservation was linked to my husband’s – who had just gone thru the process of applying for, and receiving TSA pre-check. Little man and hubby had pre-check on their tickets and baby girl and I did not. Literally, it took us 20 minutes longer to get through the security! All while they were waiting on the other side for us. Obviously, I needed to get in on the TSA action so I finally went to today to complete my TSA application! I am so excited to have TSA precheck and I am so excited to share with you how to apply for TSA precheck!

Review of Holland America’s ms Veendam Ship

We love to travel, explore new places, often visiting friends and family. But with our crazy fall, me sick then working full time (thankfully just temporarily – but it was crazy). I knew I wanted to do a real VACATION over spring break. I wanted to sit in a lounge chair, drink margaritas and relax!

And we knew a cruise would be the PERFECT way to check all those boxes!

Needless to say, we had a fabulous time. Honestly, probably our best trip yet! I have so many great cruise tips to share, but today I am giving you a review of the ms Veednam ship and cruising on the Holland America Cruise line!
