Looking for a fun, funky hotel in Dallas? Perhaps for a weekend getaway, girls trip or bachelor/bachelorette party? Then look no further than the new Virgin Hotel Dallas, an amazing property for your next Texas trip. I recently spent two nights at the Virgin and I was super impressed with the entire resort – yes this urban hotel felt more like a resort stay and I cannot wait to visit some of Virgin’s other hotels – Nashville (now open), New Orleans (Opening 2021) and New York City (opening 2022).

Virgin Hotel Dallas

I was invited to tour and stay at the Virgin Dallas, as always, all opinions are my own.

Virgin Hotel Dallas Review – A Fun, Unique Hotel for your Next Texas Trip

The Virgin Hotel Dallas is a Virgin Hotel, yes of the Richard Branson Virgin Brand. This chain of unique and funky hotels is quickly expanding throughout the US and Scotland. The Dallas hotel is super new – it only just opened in December of 2019.

The Virgin Hotel Brand was built on the motto of “Screw It, Let’s Do It” and can there be a better motto for post-2020 life and travel?

I do think that motto embraces the unique, fun, and whimsical nature of the Virgin Brand. From the art on the walls, the room decor, hotel design, you can immediately tell this hotel is special and not your cookie-cutter chain hotel.

Where is the Virgin Hotel Dallas?

The Virgin Hotel Dallas is located in the design district of Dallas, Texas. The hotel is about a  20-30 minute ride from Dallas-Ft. Worth airport and even closer to Dallas Love Field.

The location of this hotel is not right downtown, but an easy cab or Uber ride away. The Virgin Dallas does offer complimentary rides in the house car – a Rolls Royce that you can have drive you anywhere within a three mile radius.

The Virgin Dallas also has parking, so if you want to explore the area, be sure to rent a car. There are so many cool things to do in Dallas, or you can just spend your time hanging at the hotel.

How much is parking at the Virgin Hotel Dallas?

Parking at the Virgin Hotel Dallas does come with a small fee – you can do valet for $42 a night or self-park for $20 night.

Rooms at the Virgin Hotel Dallas

There are only 268 rooms, aka chambers at the Virgin Hotel Dallas. Additionally there are twenty suites – including Sir Richard’s Flat, the ULTIMATE in luxury!

The rooms at Virgin Hotel Dallas are well designed with great attention to detail

I stayed in a city view King. You walk into a dressing area with double closet, a sink, a vanity, a toilet closet and large (amazing) stand up shower.

I loved the shower at the Virgin Hotel Dallas!

The bedroom actually can be closed off. The bed area consisted of a bed, couch, and a very well stocked mini bar. Worth noting, mini bar items are “street priced” so you don’t pay a huge upcharge to enjoy the in-room snacks and drinks.

VIRGIN HOTEL DALLAS PRO-TIP: The pour over coffee provided in the room is complimentary.

The bed is known as the “best bed ever” #BBE and is the same brand the royal family sleeps on. Setting a high standard and I for sure had great night’s sleep at the Virgin Hotel Dallas.

Virgin Hotel Dallas Rooftop Pool

The main attraction at the Virgin Hotel Dallas is the incredible rooftop pool. The pool is actually located on the fourth floor, so not technically the rooftop, but this is the place to see and be seen.

Up here you can rent a cabana, or enjoy one of the many Bali beds – those are first come, first serve.

There are plenty of nooks to sit in, and a full bar and food service. Towels are provided, and there is a small hot tub as well.

With free WIFI and tons of tables, you could even work “remotely” from this rooftop paradise!

As day turns to night, the pool deck stays open and transforms into a great place for a night cap. On some nights there is a DJ playing music.

In Dallas but not staying at the Virgin? Day passes to the pool club are available here.

The Virgin Hotel Dallas has one on-site restaurant, the Commons Club, located in the lobby.

Be sure to check out the shag room in the back.

Food at Virgin Hotel Dallas
Avocado Toast, chips/salsa/tequila, and breakfast quiche

The Commons Club serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and every other Sunday offers a drag brunch. They also do a boozy twist on high tea – an upside down tea.

How fun is that?

In-room dining is available all day (order off your Lucy app) and the pool deck offers a limited food menu.

Virgin Hotel Dallas PRO TIP: You can order room service to be delivered to you anywhere in the hotel!

Lastly, grab a cup of coffee or a pastry at The Funny Library, the lobby coffee bar.

Other Amenities at the Virgin Hotel Dallas

The Virgin Hotel Dallas offers a full gym, up on the fifth floor. Throughout the resort you will find free WIFI and there is 15,550+ square feet of event space.

This would be a super fun property to hold your wedding or upcoming business event!

Is the Virgin Hotel Dallas Kid-Friendly?

The Virgin Hotel is open to any one – singles, couples and families. On my recent stay, I did see a few families enjoying the rooftop pool. And what I love about the Virgin Hotel Dallas, is that it’s an edgy property with fun accents – but nothing X-rated or dirty.

If that makes sense.

I would 1000% bring my kids to the Virgin Hotel Dallas – they would LOVE the pool and all of the fun details at this hotel!

Virgin Hotel Dallas Review

I do think the Virgin Hotel Dallas is best suited for groups of grown-ups who are looking to chill by the pool and have a relaxing time. This hotel would be such a great spot for a bachelor or bachelorette party, girls trip, guys getaway or anytime folks want to get away, indulge and have fun!

I loved all of the interesting, whimsical touches to this property, and the food, drinks and rooftop pool were amazing. Great service by the staff as well. You really get a taste of luxury, fun and style at the Virgin Hotel Dallas.

This was also my second FAM with Millennials in Travel, a great organization for us younger folks who work in the travel industry. My first trip with them was to the Belmond Charleston Place and I cannot wait to participate in future trips!
