Since we visit Southwest Florida at least once a year we are always on the hunt for new things to do – and I’m always looking to tour some of the local hotels to help plan Florida trips for clients. On my recent trip to Naples, Florida I looked at staying a night at the Hyatt Regency in Coconut Point, but the rate was over $600 for one night – this was for a weekday in January! Instead, I decided to by a day pass to Hyatt Regency Coconut Point to spend the day using the waterpark and pool facilities. Baby girl and I had such a great day and I’m excited to share my Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Day Pass review with you!

For our February break, we booked a Disney Cruise out of New Orleans. Wanting to explore NOLA a little more, we flew to New Orleans a few days before our Disney Wonder cruise. I had been to New Orleans in my early 20’s but had never been with the kids. I was excited to show them this cool city and do some sightseeing. We only had two nights in NOLA, so I knew I wanted to do an organized tour where we could hit the highlights and learn a bit about this intriguing city. I was so excited to partner with French Quartour kids to learn more about the family friendly tours they offer and participate in their tour designed just for tweens!

The Bahamas is a wonderful place to vacation and a short flight from the East Coast of the United States (about 2.5 hours from New York). The Bahamas is a country made up of 700 islands spanning some 760 miles, but most US tourists fly into Nassau on the island of New Providence. Here (and on the adjoining Paradise Island accessible by a car bridge) there are so many great resorts, ones to fit every type of traveler and budget. With some many great hotel options, I was  excited to be one of the lucky travel agents recently invited to tour Nassau with the Bahamas Tourism Board. On this trip, we toured eight different hotels giving me a much better idea of what properties would best suit what client. I am so excited to share these best hotels in Nassau, Bahamas with you!

Swimming with the Pigs has become so symbolic of a visit to the Bahamas. But pig swimming takes place in the Exuma Cays, and most tourists visit the island of New Providence – where Nassau is located. In order to experience this bucket list activity, you have to travel down to the Exuma Islands. On my recent visit to Nassau, I was fortunate enough to be invited on a day trip to Ship Channel Cay with Powerboat Adventures. This is truly a great excursion to add on to your Bahamas vacation!

I could write the answer to that question in one word – YES! A big ol’ resounding, shout it from the rooftops, please, please, please without a doubt use a travel agent to book a cruise.

ALWAYS

I could end the post here. But I am going to take a few more words to answer some common misconceptions about the best way to book a cruise.

Back when I visited Italy in 2017, my sister, aunt, uncle and I took an amazing cooking class near Lake Como (arranged by my favorite Italy destination specialists, Exclusively Italy). When planning this recent trip to Northern Italy  with  my kids, I knew I wanted to do another cooking  experience somewhere! Through extensive research  for a family  friendly cooking class, I was so lucky  to find Clara, and Cook in Milano.

Last year, my awesome group of girlfriends organized a 30+ person winter, family getaway for us to the gulf coast of Florida. We all had THE BEST time, and the main reason we had such a blast was we stayed at an awesome resort that was perfect for our group! This great property was the Alden Suites Beachfront Resort located in St. Pete Beach, Florida!

Last week I was invited to return to the Alden to their blogger bash to help celebrate their 50th anniversary. I was so excited to learn more about this awesome family owned property and to be able to share more with you all on how to plan your perfect beach vacation at the Alden Suites St. Pete!

Last summer, I was with my cousins heading out from Raleigh for a day at Carolina Beach, North Carolina. Upon arriving at Carolina Beach, we could not find any parking, so we kept heading south until we stumbled up the cutest beach town called Kure Beach. The beach was picture perfect (like straight out of the Caribbean), and the houses were so cute! This town is totally out of an HGTV beach show! Right then and there I said, “Next summer we are renting a house here” and last week, that’s exactly what we did!

I love a good hotel or resort, but renting a beach house is a fabulous way to spend a vacation. We have done so in Maui, Kona, Hana, the Outer Banks, Virginia Beach, and most recently in Kure Beach, North Carolina. A beach house can afford you more space to stretch out, and can be large enough for big groups. Having a kitchen to cook meals, and a washer/dryer to do laundry can also be an added convenience. But knowing what to bring, and what not bring to your beach house rental can be a little stressful! So here are my best tips on how to pack for your beach vacation rental house.
