Last month, I had the pleasure of staying at one of my best selling, family friendly, Jamaica all-inclusive resorts, the Hilton Rose Hall in Montego Bay, Jamaica. I had a great time on property, my clients always love this resort, and I am excited to share my full Hilton Rose Hall review with you. This resort has now been rebranded as Dreams Rose Hall, part of the Hyatt All Inclusive Collection

Dreams Rose Hall Resort Review: Family Friendly All Inclusive in Montego Bay, Jamaica

Dreams Rose Hall is a family friendly, all-inclusive resort in Rose Hall, Jamaica. The resort is about a 15 -20 minute drive from the Montego Bay airport, so the perfect resort if you don’t want to travel far once landing in Jamaica. We of course had booked Club Mobay VIP fast tracking service, so from landing to arriving at the resort, it was very fast!

My guests also love the price point, family amenities, and fantastic views. I know you will too! But the Dreams Rose Hall has so much to offer, so keep reading for my full review.

Dreams Rose Hall Rooms

If you can, spring for the oceanfront or Oceanview rooms. Request a high floor as the views are really fantastic!

Hilton Rose Hall Oceanfront Room

The hotel is built like a horseshoe around the main/quiet pool. The rooms on the end of the U are oceanfront, with five walkouts on the ground floor. The rooms on the sides, closest to the beach will have ocean views, where the rooms further back will offer mountain or resort views.

The room configurations comes in one king, or two queen beds and you can request connecting rooms in some categories.

Dreams Rose Hall does also have five larger suites.

Of course I can help you find the right room for your preference, and budget!

On my recent stay, we stayed in an oceanfront king room on the fifth floor. We had a king bed, couch, balcony, desk, dresser, TV, mini-fridge, large closet and a bathroom with a standup shower.

Dreams Rose Hall Waterpark and Pools

What really stands out here is the fun activities for kids – or kids of all ages! Dreams Rose Hall has a small waterpark with two slides, and a lazy river that ends at the swim up bar. This pool area has a great vibe, with a DJ playing music most of the day and a fun place for families to hang out.

Hilton Rose Hall Waterslide

Personally, I loved the more quiet, chill pool, closer to the hotel rooms. This was a great place to grab sun, and relax.

It’s also nice to have choices.

Worth noting that the pools are staffed with lifeguards, although I did not see life vests available. If your child needs one, best to bring it from home.

DREAMS ROSE HALL PRO-TIP: To avoid having to get up early to snag a chair, rent a poolside (or beach) cabana. When you book your Dreams Rose Hall vacation with me, I assist with all your cabana needs.

Dreams Rose Hall Beach

The beach at the Dreams Rose Hall is small, which is typical of resorts in the Montego Bay area. On my visit, it was very windy, the sea was rough, and the beach area very washed away.

I have had guests visit at other times of the year when the water was calmer and clearer.

I have to say, if you are a real beach lover, this might not be the resort for you (which is why you work with a travel professional to plan YOUR perfect vacation). But the Dreams Rose Hall does offer plenty of beach chairs and beach service throughout the day.

DREAMS ROSE HALL PRO-TIP: The best stretch of beach is at the far end of the resort, past Moonstone’s.

Dreams Rose Hall Restaurants

I have to start this section by saying, I LOVED the food at Dreams Rose Hall. Each meal was excellent and I enjoyed the quality and variety.

In addition to the buffet, which is available three meals a day, the Dreams Rose Hall offers five dinner restaurants – Moonstone for Italian, Mangoes for Asian, Rum Factory for Mexican/Jamaican, and then Three Palms and Seaside which are seafood/steak/continental cuisine.

Hilton Rose Hall Food

Note: Three Palms does have a slight up-charge ($15/person at the time of our visit) and is located across the street at the golf course. A courtesy shuttle is provided and I definitely recommend trying Three Palms.

DREAMS ROSE HALL PRO-TIP: Head over to Three Palms early for a drink, the bar there is great!

On our quick three night visit, we dined at Rum Factory, Seaside and Three Palms. Our favorite ended up being Seaside – cannot beat great food with an ocean breeze.

We did like Rum Factory, but the menu was a little all over the place – not sure exactly what the theme was meant to be, but definitely give it a try!

For breakfast at Dreams Rose Hall, there are four options. Grabs something light at the Coffee shop (OMG WE LOVED THE COFFEE SHOP), head to the buffet, order room service, or, insider tip, Moonstone’s service ala carte breakfast with the best breakfast views in Jamaica!

Room service is available all day and you can scan the QR code in the elevator to access the menus and other resort happenings.

Lastly for lunch or mid-day eats, guests at Dreams Rose Hall have a few options. The buffet serves lunch, Moonstone’s offers pizza, Mango’s serves poolside burgers, quesadillas, things like that, and Seaside is available for a sit down, ala carte meal.

Oh, and don’t forget to check out the Jerk Shack at the far end of the beach!

Dreams Rose Hall Activities

On our short trip, we spent our days hanging out at the various pools and beach, but did enjoy some of the activities around the resort. The activity staff is great. My friend joined the beer pong tournament, there was daily trivia, and live DJ music throughout the afternoon. The activity offerings are posted around the resort, so you can know what is going on.

Dreams Rose Hall does have a tennis court, basketball court, playground, and small kids club.

Be sure to also find the hidden hot tubs, located behind the stairs to the waterslide!

Hilton Rose Hall Activities

The Dreams Rose Hall is also located less than five minutes from the White Witch and Cinnamon Hill Golf courses. Dreams Rose Hall guests get special golf rates.

Lastly, the resort offers non-motorized watersports at the dive shop – kayaks, paddle boards, hobbies, things like that. Sadly on our visit it was too windy to try any of the watersports.

Dreams Rose Hall Nightlife and Entertainment

For a small-ish resort, I was super impressed with the evening entertainment offered at Dreams Rose Hall.

Each evening they had live music or a performance down near the stage. Everything was family friendly and well done. Later in the evening, you can find the Cricket Club (It’s a little hidden) where they had family karaoke, and then an adults only DJ time.

I also liked hanging out at the bar outside the lobby. Great drinks, fun vibe, and you can hear the music from the show below!

Dreams Rose Hall Review

I really did enjoy my stay at Dreams Rose Hall. I had only two complaints about the resort. We stayed in a fifth floor oceanfront king. Our room had a very small bathroom! Like one you would find in a cruise cabin like when I was on the Scarlet Lady! BUT other folks we talked to around the resort, and from feedback from guests I spoke with, that is not normal. Not sure why this room had such a tiny bathroom?

And my second, and more important criticism of the resort, was the liquor offered was not the best. Hardly any recognizable brands and the cocktail menu is very heavy on the frozen drink options. I think a little mixology or better cocktail offerings would really elevate the resort.

They did serve red stripe beer (of course, its Jamaica!) and the house wine was decent. Do note that the restaurants do offer bottles for purchase, and we noticed if you asked for some better liquor (Ketel one, Johnny walker) there were some bars that had stashes of the good stuff.

But otherwise, the food, service, room, views, pool vibe, waterpark, swim up bar, and nightlife were great. If you are looking for an adults only resort in Montego Bay, this would not be the resort for you, but the Dreams Rose Hall has everything a family needs for a great vacation!
