One of the great side effects of being a seasoned traveler, and travel blogger, is that friends and family often ask me to help them plan their trips. (I really need to become an agent, its something I am thinking of doing – any advice on this definitely welcome). I love a good road trip — and one of the best ones I have ever taken was from Washington, D.C. to Nashville, Tennessee. As a road trip destination, Nashville is so accessible from other East Coast cities, yet has such a different vibe than Atlanta, Washington, D.C., or New York City. Plus, there is so much to do in Nashville, whether you are an art lover, history buff, foodie or a music fan.
We are so lucky to be able to visit Orlando Florida often! My cousin lives there, and her kids are around the same age as mine. They adore each other and we love exploring Orlando together. In the past, we all visited Legoland Florida (twice), Chef Mickey Brunch, the Orlando Eye, Aquatica and the Orlando Crayola Experience. So when planning this recent Florida trip, we were trying to think of something unique to do. My cousin suggested we try an Everglades Airboat Tour and I knew this was something my kids would love! Recently, I’ve been flying a lot. In January I went to Cary, North Carolina and Ft. Myers, Florida. Hubby and I love the thrill of getting a low plane fare- we have lots of great tips and tricks for getting cheap & free flights (Which I really need to share soon!). We are lucky to have three airports that serve our area, LaGuardia, JFK and Islip-MacArthur. That alone gives us lots of travel options – but with all things being equal we always try to fly out of JFK. There are so many options to get there, it’s really the most convenient for us. I travel to Cary, North Carolina about four times a year. My grandpa, age 106.5 lives there, as do my two aunts who are some of my favorite people in the world. There is so much to do in Cary, it is easy to get around and the people are so friendly! I love this area so much! I hate winter, so to combat the long stretch of cold ahead, I decided to book a fall Florida getaway with baby girl. We love visiting Orlando – both to escape the cold and to visit our Florida cousins. Every time we visit Orlando, we always find new things to do!
