You all know I love cruising and I love cruising with Virgin Voyages. So I was super excited to get to sail for 8 nights on their new ship, the Resilient Lady, the third ship in their fleet. Keep reading for my complete Resilient Lady Review and tips if you are sailing on this incredible ship.

Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady Ship Tour

Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady Review

The crazy thing is the Resilient Lady is the same exact ship as the previous two Virgin Voyages’ ships, the Scarlet Lady and the Valiant Lady. The next ship to come, the Brilliant Lady will have some redesigns, and Scarlet is currently in dry dock getting some refurbishments, but if you sailed on Scarlet or Valiant, Resilient Lady will look very similar.

Why Sail on Virgin Voyages?

Virgin Voyages is a brand new, adults only, cruise line, they started sailing at the end of 2021.

This is a brand that is revamping the cruise experience. They really do things differently than other lines. Instead of a cruise director, you will find a resident diva/drag queen on board! The shows are sexy and edgy, the décor modern and sleek.

I have sailed twice on the Scarlet Lady and really love the ships and the experience. I am not sure how I feel about the ships being the exact same, on one hand it was great to get on board and know the ship, but on the other hand, all the dining venues and menus are the same, so would have been nice to have some new dining concepts or spaces on board.

The Virgin Voyages’ Resilient Lady does have new shows on board, different than the first two ships, and of course the itineraries are varied.

What is Included on the Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady?

They also include a lot more than regular cruise lines. With your cruise fare, Wi-Fi is included, all restaurants are specialty restaurants, there is no mandatory service gratuities at the end of the cruise, fitness classes are included, as well as sodas. So you might see a higher upfront prices, but there is no nickel and dining (and no kids) on Virgin Voyages.

Virgin Voyages’ Resilient Lady Suites

On this trip I got to tour some of the amazing suites on the Resilient Lady. I do think with the added perks, the Rockstar and Mega Rockstar Suites are such a great value

Resilient Lady Mega Rock Star Suites

The Virgin Voyages’ Mega Rock star Suites Include the following perks:

Virgin Voyages Mega Rock Star Suite Inclusions

The Mega Rock Star Suites on Resilient Lady are the Massive Suite (2147 Square Feet), the Fab Suite (950 Square Feet) and the Posh Suite (833 square feet). These gorgeous suites have separate bedrooms with sitting areas, huge bathrooms and terraces.

Virgin Voyages Rock Star Suites

The Rock Star Suites on Resilient Lady include the Brilliant Suite (482 square feet), Cheeky Corner Suite (615 square feet), Seriously Suite (352 square feet) or the Sweet Aft Suite (416 square feet).

These are larger than your standard rooms and the Cheeky Corner and Suite Aft Suite have huge terraces!

You can think of Virgin Voyages’ Mega Rock Star suites as Butler Level, and Rock Star Suites as concierge level (if you are a previous Sandals Resort Guest, you will get the analogy!)

Cabins on Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady

If a suite is not in your budget, no worries! Having sailed on Virgin Voyages’ three times, I do highly recommend the XL Sea Terrace Rooms. These have a balcony (with signature Virgin Voyages’ red hammock), and the extra square footage which is mainly in the bathroom.

I have few complaints about the Virgin Voyages’ ships, but the main one is that the bathrooms in the regular cabins (Central Sea Terrace, Sea Terrace, Sea View, and Insider) have very small bathrooms. Now I have sailed on over 20 cruise ships and this ship has the smallest bathrooms I’ve seen!

Otherwise, if you are looking for a more budget friendly cabin, consider a Sea View or an Insider.

I also love that the Resilient Lady has various cabins for one guest (and no single supplement on these!). Solo guests can choose from the solo insider or solo sea view. And its Virgin Voyages, so there are plenty of opportunities for solo travelers meet ups!

Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady Dining Options

A highlight of sailing on Virgin Voyages’ is definitely the food experience. And unlike when sailing on other cruise lines, ALL restaurants are included with your cruise fare. Yes, there are some upcharge items on certain menus, but no upcharge restaurants.

For dinners, I do recommend making dining reservations in advance, at the 45 days prior to sailing mark when the reservations open up. You can shift them on board, and although there are not enough pre-cruise reservations for each guest, they leave reservations to be made on board, AND space for walk in dining. When you book your Virgin cruise with me, I help you with all of this.

Prior to sailing, you can only book each restaurant only once. Once on board, you can only hold one reservation at each restaurant.

For dinners on Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady, your restaurant options are:

Test Kitchen – this is a molecular gastronomy, five course, set menu. They offer a meat version and a vegan option. You can mix and match between the courses.

Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady PRO TIP. They offer two tasting menus, so if you are sailing twice or on a longer sailing, but sure to check you are getting the different menus.

Test Kitchen also offers the option to add a cocktail or wine pairing for a small fee.

Gunbae – This is the Korean BBQ restaurant. The atmosphere is super fun. You sit at a round table of 8, so you might dine with other sailors. The food is cooked on the hot plate in front of you. Here you will also play drinking games, drink sake, and shout GUNBAE!

Pink Agave – This is the Mexican restaurant. Great cocktails here and check the app for the night when this turns into a Latin Dance club.

Extra Virgin – Italian Restaurant.

Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady PRO TIP: You can dine at the bar at Extra Virgin

The Wake – This is the Steak/Seafood restaurant on board.

Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady Pro Tip: You can purchase oysters here.

Razzle Dazzle – This restaurant started as a vegetarian concept, but has shifted to veggie forward cuisine. Eclectic menu with eclectic décor.

Other dinner options on Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady

If you are not looking for a sit down meal, there are a few other options to get dinner on Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady. Other dining options include the pizza place, tapas at the Dock, snacks at the Social Club (hot dogs, hot pretzels, popcorn) and the Galley diner serves all day breakfast, the burger joint is open until 2am, and the Salad Station is open until 10pm.

Tips for Sailing on Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady

Harmony Skillman, Cruise Travel Agent on the Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady Ship

SHOP: SHIRT, SUNGLASSES

I know you will love your time on Virgin Voyages’ Resilient Lady, but here are some tips to make your cruise even better!

Go find the perch on deck 17. Back here you will lots of deck chairs. Even at the back of deck 16 there are beds you can lay on. Most people try to get chairs by the pool, but there are plenty in the back of the ship (although I have heard that topless bathing is permitted on the perch, but I have not seen that personally).

Be sure to check out Greek appetizer/Opa hour at the Dock, offered each afternoon.

The Wi-Fi is now for one device at a time. (It used to be unlimited) If you have trouble logging on, forget the network, then rejoin in order to connect your other device.

In the Galley, they will serve you. You DO NOT have to run around gathering up your food. Just put the little flag up and they will come and take your order from the various restaurants.

In the Galley, they have great grab and go options all day. I did notice there was more charcuterie boxes out at breakfast (sometimes not out later in the day). These were great to take back to your room to have an afternoon snack. They also have grab and go at the Pizza Place and at the Dock.

Be sure to book your next Virgin Voyage when you are on board. You will get both a discount AND an on board credit, depending on how long of a sailing you book. Not sure when you will sail next? You can buy a placeholder and choose a sailing later. Virgin Voyages PRO TIP – while YOU are on board, you can buy a placeholder for a friend as well. You purchase it, then you can transfer the name on it.

You can pre-order your breakfast through room service on your app.

Don’t forget about Poké bowls up on deck 16.

When you get off the ship for excursions, you have to go up to the pool deck and grab your towels. They don’t give them out at the gangway.

Another Rose is the Dinner show. There is a charge of $50 per person, but I heard the show is amazing.

The thermal suite you can do for a small charge (cheaper on port days). Go early in your sailing to reserve your three hour window, as the passes do sell out fast.

On debarkation day you can do brunch at the Wake or Razzle Dazzle. All guests have to be off the ship by 1030am. You can also have breakfast in the Galley if you are short on time.

Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady Review

Sailing on Virgin Voyages is awesome. If you are looking for a kid free getaway (sailors must be 18+) consider a sailing. I love that they have sailings as short as 4 nights and longer ones as well. The staff is incredible, the happenings cast is awesome, they will totally become your friends, the ship is sophisticated and whimsical and you can really enjoy your vacation however you want! If you are interested in learning more about Virgin Voyages, be sure to reach out HERE. I am a Gold Tier First Mate, which means I have the highest level of training on the brand. Plus I have sailed multiple time and truly love the experience.
