Royalton Antigua Review: The Good and the Not-So-Good
The week between Christmas and New Year’s we usually spend at home, watching movies, going to New York City to see the Rockefeller Center tree, and visiting with friends and family. But since none of that was happening in 2020 (and we had spent plenty of time at home watching movies) we decided a family getaway was in order. We headed to the Caribbean island of Antigua, for six nights at the Royalton Antigua resort. Our trip was honestly so-so and we were very disappointed in many aspects of our stay. As with everything, I share the good, and the not-so-good regarding travel, so here is my review of the Royalton Antigua Resort & Spa.
As a full-service travel agent, I received a discounted rate to visit the Royalton Antigua. As always, all opinions are my own.

What it’s Like To Travel to the Caribbean from the US during COVID – Antigua Trip Report
Needless to say, these last seven months have been very strange. Especially when working in travel! As a travel agent, spring 2020 was filled with cancelling countless client travel plans and summer 2020 was pretty quiet on the international travel front. But, as life is trekking on, things in travel are picking up and travel to the Caribbean has been happening safely, and for quite some time. Last week I was invited to visit Sandals Grande Antigua and this was my first plane and international trip since the start of the pandemic. I had an amazing (and safe) time traveling to the Caribbean during COVID and I am excited to share my story with you!

Where to stay in the Bahamas – Nassau and Paradise Island
The Bahamas is a wonderful place to vacation and a short flight from the East Coast of the United States (about 2.5 hours from New York). The Bahamas is a country made up of 700 islands spanning some 760 miles, but most US tourists fly into Nassau on the island of New Providence. Here (and on the adjoining Paradise Island accessible by a car bridge) there are so many great resorts, ones to fit every type of traveler and budget. With some many great hotel options, I was excited to be one of the lucky travel agents recently invited to tour Nassau with the Bahamas Tourism Board. On this trip, we toured eight different hotels giving me a much better idea of what properties would best suit what client. I am so excited to share these best hotels in Nassau, Bahamas with you!

Swimming Pigs Day Trip Excursion from Nassau, Bahamas
Swimming with the Pigs has become so symbolic of a visit to the Bahamas. But pig swimming takes place in the Exuma Cays, and most tourists visit the island of New Providence – where Nassau is located. In order to experience this bucket list activity, you have to travel down to the Exuma Islands. On my recent visit to Nassau, I was fortunate enough to be invited on a day trip to Ship Channel Cay with Powerboat Adventures. This is truly a great excursion to add on to your Bahamas vacation!
